Job description
About the role
Stanlake Park is a historic country estate in Berkshire, surrounded by scenic vineyard land and operating as a mix of wine production, hospitality, weddings, events, and private homes. Because the site is diverse and active, it needs someone who can keep standards high, handle day-to-day upkeep, and pay close attention to security and presentation.
The estate is looking for a dependable, practical, and self-starting Live-In Caretaker who can oversee the smooth running of the property. This is a full-time live-in opportunity with accommodation supplied on site, and it offers strong long-term prospects for the right individual or couple.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out routine grounds care and general maintenance across the estate
- Complete minor repairs and preventive upkeep for buildings and outdoor spaces
- Act as the site key holder and help maintain estate security
- Perform regular inspections to ensure the property remains in good condition
- Undertake driving tasks for estate-related errands and other required jobs
- Coordinate with outside contractors whenever specialist support is needed
- Use basic electrical and/or plumbing knowledge as part of the role
- Apply any additional trade experience where helpful
Couples welcome
Applications from couples are encouraged. The second person’s responsibilities may include cleaning, housekeeping, light maintenance, support with grounds work, and other general tasks that help the estate operate smoothly.
The role can be adapted to suit the right candidates, and advanced gardening expertise is not required because a full-time gardener is already in place.
About you
- You are practical, reliable, and willing to get involved in hands-on work
- You take responsibility seriously and pay attention to detail
- You are comfortable working on your own without constant supervision
- You use initiative and look for ways to solve problems before they escalate
- You have prior experience in maintenance, caretaking, or estate work
- You hold a full, clean driving licence
What we offer
- A full-time residential position with live-in accommodation provided
- A salary that will be discussed based on experience
- Company pension access plus 28 days of holiday
- Staff discount benefits
- A stable, long-term opportunity
- Varied work with a good level of autonomy
- A respectful and supportive workplace
