Linux Administrator

Job Summary

This role is for a Linux administrator who can manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, carry out operating system patching, address vulnerabilities, work with AWS cloud infrastructure, build automation, and provide production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Take care of RHEL server administration and support across enterprise setups.
• Schedule and apply Linux OS patches, security fixes, and kernel updates.
• Handle vulnerability remediation and support compliance-related activities.
• Investigate and resolve problems related to operating system behavior, filesystems, storage, networking, and performance.
• Use Bash shell scripts and Ansible to automate routine administrative work.
• Contribute to incident, problem, and change management workflows.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Practical knowledge of Linux patching, YUM, DNF, RPM, and repository administration.
• Understanding of LVM, NFS, SSH, DNS, TCP/IP, and general system administration.
• Bash scripting and Ansible-based automation skills.
• Experience supporting production systems and troubleshooting issues.

Cloud Platform Knowledge

AWS is preferred and the role expects familiarity with EC2, EBS, IAM, VPC, Route 53, Security Groups, Load Balancers, AWS Systems Manager, Patch Manager, CloudWatch monitoring and alerting, AMIs, snapshots, backup and recovery practices, Linux workload management in AWS, migration from on-premises to AWS, and exposure to Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.

Primary Focus

The core areas for this position are RHEL administration, Linux patching, AWS EC2, AWS Systems Manager (SSM), CloudWatch, security compliance, vulnerability remediation, automation, and production support.

Compensation

Salary range: INR 6,50,000 to INR 16,00,000 per year.
