About the Role
JAX Tyres & Auto is looking to hire a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to become part of their active Illawarra team. This full-time, on-site position involves delivering superior mechanical and tyre services to a loyal local clientele. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who values high-quality workmanship and excellent customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct servicing activities including diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and maintenance on various light vehicles.
- Accurately identify mechanical, electrical, and brake system faults utilizing modern diagnostic tools.
- Perform tyre and suspension services such as wheel alignments, steering repairs, tyre fitting, and balancing.
- Ensure all repairs comply with stringent safety standards and JAX’s quality procedures.
- Engage professionally with customers to explain vehicle safety inspections, necessary repairs, and expected timelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Trade qualification: Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent credential.
- Demonstrated experience in a busy automotive workshop, capable of working independently from the start.
- Possession of a current and valid Australian manual driver’s license.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Dependable work ethic, punctuality, and ability to collaborate within a team.
