Job description

About the Company

Dexterra Group has supported Canadian customers for more than 75 years through the combined strength of companies that grew independently and now operate under one name. The organization focuses on maintaining infrastructure and built assets that are essential to everyday life, while helping clients improve performance and productivity through experienced teams and regional know-how.

Role Overview

As a Light Duty Cleaner, you will be responsible for keeping the facility clean, tidy, and presented to a high standard. The role is centered on maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for staff, clients, and visitors.

Key Duties

  • Keep floors in good condition by vacuuming when required and damp-mopping small hard-surface areas.
  • Clean and disinfect washrooms, shared spaces, and entry areas.
  • Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand towels, and hand soap when items run low or are missing.
  • Dust office cubicles.
  • Clean and shine chrome and other polished metal fixtures.
  • Spot-clean walls, partitions, light switches, doors, and window sills.

What You Can Expect

  • Join a field that remains essential and highly relevant.
  • Opportunities to move forward in your career.
  • Work with a company that is expanding rather than reducing headcount.
  • Start strong with an established industry leader.

Requirements

  • Prior floor-care experience is considered an advantage, including scrubbing, buffing, and polishing floors.
  • Experience with stripping and waxing floors is also an asset.
  • You should be able to communicate clearly with a supervisor, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to work on your own and collaborate with a team when needed.
  • A positive outlook and strong work ethic are important.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • WHMIS certification is required, though training may be provided.
  • A clear criminal background check is mandatory.

All qualified applicants are considered without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, Indigenous status, or any other protected characteristic.
