Role overview
This full-time, on-site position is based in Kumasi and focuses on helping clients choose suitable life insurance coverage. The agent will prospect for potential customers, discuss available insurance plans, and guide individuals toward options that align with their financial goals and personal circumstances. The job requires regular face-to-face client meetings, assessing insurance needs, preparing and explaining quotations, and supporting applicants through the submission and underwriting stages. The role also includes maintaining relationships with existing policyholders, reviewing policies over time, answering questions, assisting with claims-related concerns, and working with the branch team to achieve sales objectives while staying compliant with company and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Reach out to prospective clients and build a pipeline of potential life insurance customers.
- Present life insurance products clearly and recommend coverage options based on each client’s needs and goals.
- Meet clients in person to carry out needs assessments and discuss suitable policy solutions.
- Prepare quotations, explain policy details, and help clients move through the application and underwriting steps.
- Maintain contact with policyholders, conduct policy reviews, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Support clients with questions connected to claims and policy administration.
- Work alongside the branch team to contribute toward sales targets and local marketing efforts.
- Keep accurate records of client interactions, follow-ups, and sales activity.
- Follow all internal procedures as well as relevant compliance and regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications and experience
- Experience in selling insurance products or working in brokerage, with the ability to prospect, present, and close life insurance business.
- Understanding of insurance and basic finance concepts so policies, premiums, benefits, and long-term planning can be explained clearly.
- Strong customer service capability, including active listening, empathy, and professional communication.
- Good organization and time management to handle appointments, documentation, and follow-ups.
- At least an SHS certificate; a diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related area is an added advantage.
- Experience in insurance, banking, or financial services is preferred, though strong sales potential may also be considered.
- Comfort using basic digital tools such as email, spreadsheets, and CRM or client-tracking systems.
- Fluent English communication; knowledge of local languages used in Kumasi is a plus.
- High integrity, professionalism, and a strong client-first attitude.
