Job Overview

This is a full-time administrative position based at Alghad College for Applied Medical Sciences in Najran. The contract duration is one year, and the working schedule is 48 hours per week.

Academic Qualification

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Library and Information Science.

Experience

A minimum of two years of experience in the same field is required.

General Conditions

  • The applicant must possess the specified academic degree from a Saudi university or from a university approved by the Ministry of Education, with a certificate equivalency document attached for degrees earned outside Saudi Arabia.
  • For lecturer and faculty roles, the academic background must be directly aligned with the discipline.
  • A bachelor’s GPA of “Good” or above is required.
  • All university qualifications must have been completed through full-time regular study.
  • Applicants must successfully pass the scientific test and personal interview.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the use of the Saudi Digital Library databases.
  • Recommend updates to the manuals and policies that govern library administration and user procedures.
  • Work with academic departments to identify the college’s needs for references, books, journals, newsletters, and other learning resources.
  • Manage library systems such as cataloging and circulation, and keep them continuously updated.
  • Archive audiovisual, printed, and multimedia learning materials and organize their storage within the library.
  • Prepare a monthly bulletin covering new and updated references, then circulate it across the college.
  • Ensure the library has the equipment and safeguards needed to protect its contents.
  • Organize both internal and external borrowing processes.
  • Coordinate with academic departments to identify new references and learning resources that can be added to the library.
  • Conduct training workshops for faculty members, equivalent staff, and students to introduce library services and how to use them effectively.
  • Gather feedback from students, faculty members, and equivalent staff about the quality of library services.
  • Suggest library activities that can be digitized and moved into electronic format.
