Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a committed Librarian to join the Resource Centre team, contributing actively to library operations and supporting various organisational projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily library activities including responding to inquiries, managing loan services, cataloguing new materials, maintaining collection records and tracking loans, as well as conducting stocktaking.
- Manage procurement of subscriptions: obtain quotations, collect user feedback, process renewals, and handle relevant documentation.
- Curate the digital resource collection by uploading electronic resources to the organisation's digital repository and managing email distribution for publications.
- Conduct research and environmental scanning to support library initiatives.
- Promote and explain library services and collections to staff, guiding them on available resources.
- Supervise temporary staff ensuring compliance with library standards and procedures.
- Complete various administrative duties as required.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 2-3 years experience in a library role, ideally within a special library setting.
- Strong digital proficiency including office software and online systems.
- Excellent organisational abilities complemented by experience in procurement.
- Detail-oriented with strong research, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Capable of working independently while managing several projects concurrently.
