Leisure Facility Manager - Payneham Memorial Swimming Centre

About the Role

BlueFit is excited to begin a new collaboration with the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters to oversee the renowned Payneham Memorial Swimming Centre alongside the Norwood Swimming Centre. We aim to transform this beloved community aquatic hub into a welcoming, inclusive, and dynamic place for individuals of all ages and abilities to engage in active, healthy lifestyles while fostering community connection.

Central to our mission is ensuring children develop strong skills and confidence to remain safe in and around water. Every swimming lesson provides a chance to instill lifelong water safety knowledge, contribute to healthier communities, and offer parents reassurance that their children are learning in safe, encouraging, and fun environments.

As an integral member of our foundational team, you will play a key role in shaping the culture, programs, and customer experience right from launch, supported by BlueFit's established operational systems and a dedication to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily operations of the state-of-the-art Payneham Memorial Swimming Centre.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a diverse team focused on operations, customer service, and aquatic programs.
• Drive community engagement, establishing authentic relationships with local families, patrons, and council stakeholders.
• Manage the facility's budget, ensure workplace health and safety compliance, and oversee plant room functionality.
• Promote growth and success of all programs, ensuring high customer satisfaction and commercial viability.

Candidate Profile

• Exceptional leadership skills with a history of inspiring and managing multifunctional teams in leisure or aquatic environments.
• Strong customer service orientation focused on building meaningful community connections.
• Ability and enthusiasm to operate in dynamic launch periods, including weekend and holiday coverage.
• Experience with budget oversight, WHS procedures, and technical plant operations.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid South Australian Department for Human Services Working with Children Check or readiness to obtain one.
• Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Certification in Pool Operations or equivalent practical experience operating pool plant equipment.
• Additional qualifications such as Pool Lifeguard and Swim Teacher certifications are highly valued.
