About the Role
A prominent AI research team is looking for seasoned legal professionals to help train and evaluate systems that handle sophisticated legal reasoning. The work focuses on creating demanding legal prompts, reviewing machine-generated answers, and delivering structured feedback that improves how AI performs in the legal field.
This position offers a flexible, remote setup and the chance to apply legal expertise to advanced AI research.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and assess legal question sets spanning multiple areas of practice.
- Judge AI-produced legal answers for correctness, readability, and sound reasoning.
- Work through legal scenarios to benchmark model performance.
- Pull together and interpret information from statutes, case law, and scholarly materials.
- Share detailed, structured feedback so the AI aligns more closely with legal standards and real-world practice.
Qualifications
- Advanced legal training or credentials such as J.D., LL.M., S.J.D., or Ph.D. in Law from a highly regarded university.
- Strong capability in legal research, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Excellent written communication skills and close attention to detail.
- Comfort synthesizing information from a wide range of legal sources.
- Prior experience in legal practice or a related industry is preferred, including litigation, corporate, or regulatory work.

Project Details
This is an hourly contract engagement with a part-time commitment of about 20 or more hours per week. The assignment is fully remote, asynchronous, and can be completed on your own schedule. The expected duration is 4 weeks, with possible extension. Start is immediate.
Compensation & Contract
The base pay is $110–$130 per hour in USD. High-performing contributors may also receive an extra bonus of $20–$100 per hour. Payment is handled daily through Stripe Connect, and the arrangement is on an independent contractor basis.
