The company describes a workplace built around respect, openness, and inclusion. It emphasizes equal treatment regardless of skin colour, origin, religion, nationality, gender, or sexual orientation, and expects the same standard from all applicants.

What you will do

  • Carry out detailed legal research across German and EU law, and where needed, international law.
  • Review legal updates, judicial decisions, and regulatory changes, then present them in a concise, organized format.
  • Prepare internal legal notes and assessments for stakeholders.
  • Help draft, refine, and maintain policies, guidelines, and templates used within the company.
  • Support compliance-related initiatives, including work connected to consumer protection, e-commerce, and data protection rules.
  • Track legislative developments and help the legal team adjust to new legal obligations on time.
  • Work with teams such as Product, Marketing, and Customer Support on legal and regulatory matters.
  • Assist with individual legal questions and cases while working under supervision.

What the employer is looking for

  • You are studying law or have already completed a comparable legal qualification, such as an LL.B., LL.M., First State Examination, or Second State Examination.
  • You can explain complex legal topics clearly and briefly.
  • You have strong analytical ability and can perform careful, structured legal research.
  • You are interested in commercially oriented legal work.
  • Experience or knowledge in e-commerce, data protection, IT law, intellectual property, employment law, or tax law is an advantage.
  • You communicate fluently in both German and English, spoken and written.
  • You must be present in Berlin for this role.

Working setup and benefits

This is a part-time office-based role in Berlin for 15 to 20 hours per week. The company also offers a hybrid working model, provides the equipment you need, and supports flexible working hours with defined core hours so you can balance work and personal life.

Other benefits include five weeks of paid vacation, a Germany-wide public transport ticket, a lunch allowance of up to €7.67 per working day, and complimentary drinks and snacks.

Cardmarket also invests in learning and wellbeing through a yearly development budget of €1,500, Urban Sports Club membership, anonymous psychological support via DearEmployee, and internal communities for Women of Cardmarket and LGBTQIA+ employees.
