Legal Operations Specialist

Role overview

This contract role is for a legal technology and operations professional who can help construct realistic legal work environments and workflow scenarios. The purpose of the work is to support the evaluation of advanced language models across areas such as legal operations, contract handling, and e-discovery.

What you will do

• Develop authentic digital workspaces that mirror everyday legal operations processes and documentation.
• Create multi-step exercises covering legal intake, contract lifecycle management, e-discovery, matter handling, and spend-related workflows.
• Design scenarios that require moving across several tools, documents, and stakeholders.
• Partner with legal operations and legal technology specialists to improve the realism of workflows, the scope of tasks, and the strength of evaluation standards.
• Work independently with research teams to strengthen benchmark structure and the quality of legal-tech tasks.
• Convert complex legal operations procedures into clear, structured evaluation requirements.

Ideal background

• Proven experience in legal operations, legal technology, e-discovery, contract lifecycle management, or matter management.
• Exposure to legal spend management, legal intake, knowledge management, or enterprise legal program design is highly relevant.
• Comfort using platforms such as Relativity, Icertis, HotDocs, Contract Express, Clio, or MyCase.
• Participation in CLOC or ACC Legal Ops activities is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical writing skills and the ability to turn legal workflows into detailed task specifications.

Compensation

This is a paid contract engagement with hourly compensation of $55 to $75.
