About the Role
Star Media Network Private Limited is seeking a driven and skilled Legal Executive/Advocate to take a full-time position based in Noida, with travel required occasionally. This role involves overseeing legal affairs, managing client disputes, supporting litigation activities, handling contracts, ensuring statutory compliance, and providing legal counsel across all company divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and vetting various agreements including MOUs, NDAs, vendor and franchise contracts, employment agreements, and legal notices.
- Addressing and resolving consumer complaints, client disputes, legal inquiries, and pre-litigation cases.
- Coordinating with external legal counsel on civil, criminal, labour, arbitration, consumer, and commercial cases.
- Preparing responses to legal notices, arbitration proceedings, court cases, police reports, and government communications.
- Representing the organization before police officials, government bodies, consumer forums, labour authorities, and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws such as Companies Act, Labour Laws, GST, IT Act, POSH, Contract Act, and Consumer Protection Act.
- Managing litigation files, tracking hearing schedules, maintaining legal documentation, and case status reporting.
- Developing and implementing legal standard operating procedures, HR policies, compliance frameworks, and internal legal protocols.
- Dealing with employee disciplinary actions, domestic inquiries, terminations, recoveries, and associated legal paperwork.
- Offering legal assistance to various departments including Business Development, HR, Operations, Franchise, Production, PR, and Marketing.
- Liaising with clients, vendors, consultants, government officials, and law enforcement on legal matters.
- Handling trademark, copyright, intellectual property, and brand protection issues.
- Conducting legal risk evaluations and advising management on strategies to mitigate legal challenges.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of all company legal affairs and sensitive information.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree, with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) preferred.
- Registered with the Bar Council.
- Have 2 to 5 years of pertinent legal experience; however, freshers demonstrating exceptional drafting capabilities are welcome to apply.
- Demonstrate excellent skills in legal drafting and research.
- Comprehensive understanding of civil, commercial, corporate, labour, consumer, and contract legislation.
- Experience with arbitration, dispute resolution, and legal document preparation.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills to handle multiple legal tasks independently.
- Proficiency using MS Office and drafting legal documents.
