About The Role
The Legal Executive will assist the Head of Legal with managing Saudi legal tasks, encompassing commercial contracts, legal research, regulatory analyses, bilingual Arabic-English drafting, document management, internal coordination, and liaising with external legal counsel. This position ensures that legal processes are properly documented, reviewed, and advanced promptly, reducing dependency on external counsel for execution-level duties.
Silq operates in a dynamic environment where the legal team supports regulatory strategy, commercial arrangements, financing & funding preparations, product governance, supplier and buyer contracts, approvals, and bilingual Saudi law documentation. This role is pivotal in allowing the Head of Legal to concentrate on strategic initiatives and senior stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Drafts and reviews initial versions of various commercial contracts including supplier agreements, customer terms, reseller deals, NDAs, service agreements, schedules, notices, and standard operational contracts.
- Conducts preliminary legal research on SAMA regulations, payment services, fintech, financing, PDPL, AML/KYC, e-commerce, and Saudi commercial law, preparing concise regulatory summaries.
- Supports strategic projects by preparing documentation, maintaining trackers, managing commercial schedules, and organizing supplier/buyer documentation and closing checklists.
- Assists with regulatory activities including mapping, document collection, drafting internal memos, research notes, and coordinating with external counsel regarding SAMA licensing and regulatory matters.
- Supports external funding efforts by managing documents, cleaning up contracts, assisting in due diligence preparation, maintaining corporate documents and trackers, and collaborating with external counsel for investor-related processes.
- Prepares and reviews Arabic and English legal documents ensuring consistency between versions and flags any discrepancies for further examination.
- Coordinates with internal teams across finance, product, commercial, operations, and compliance to gather information, draft documents, manage legal requests, and keep progress on tracks.
- Contributes to initial legal research, documentation mapping, and external lawyer coordination for potential expansion into other GCC or regional jurisdictions.
- Manages legal operations including maintaining trackers, repositories, approval records, version control, execution checklists, and internal legal documentation.
Requirements
- Between 3 to 6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within commercial, finance, fintech, technology, marketplace, or startup sectors.
- Proficient in drafting legal documents fluently in both Arabic and English.
- Familiarity or ability to research SAMA, payment services, financing, fintech, and associated Saudi regulatory frameworks.
- Competent in drafting and reviewing various commercial contracts including supplier agreements, customer terms, NDAs, platform terms, notices, and routine legal documentation.
- Good comprehension of commercial risk, payment flows, settlement operations, and contractual safeguards.
- Capable of managing multiple internal stakeholders and ensuring execution progress in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Saudi nationals are preferred due to the regulatory, Arabic drafting, and localization demands of the role.

- Strong legal research abilities and skillful memo writing to simplify complex regulatory topics into actionable items.
- Sound legal judgment and a proactive ownership approach, with capacity to handle trackers, document closure, and appropriate escalation.
- Experience in due diligence workflows, contract repository management, and legal operations in an organized setting.
- Background or exposure to fintech, payment systems, PDPL, AML/KYC, or SAMA regulatory frameworks is highly advantageous.
