Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel based in Bangalore or Pune to support our operations by safeguarding the company’s legal interests and ensuring statutory compliance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to protect the company's legal rights while ensuring all operations align with applicable laws.
  • Interpret and analyze legal and commercial risks, offering clear and concise recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Draft and review a variety of commercial contracts including Master Service Agreements, Alliance Agreements, and License Agreements relevant to IT services.
  • Evaluate proposals, contribute to proposal drafting, and assist with tender and RFP responses.
  • Engage in negotiations with customers and vendors, ensuring internal contracting policies and risk avoidance measures are met.
  • Deliver ongoing legal advisement on corporate compliance, monitor relevant laws and regulations, and counsel executive management accordingly.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have a Bachelor of Arts degree followed by an LLB or a Master’s degree in Law from an esteemed institution with 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.

Professional Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of legal principles and terminology across areas such as contracts and intellectual property, accompanied by competent drafting ability.
  • Basic awareness of market trends within the legal domain to assist informed decision-making.
  • Proficient in legal research techniques including data collection, fact verification, and analysis for informed legal advice integration.
  • Understanding of macroeconomic influences and financial policies to support finance teams in legal matters.
  • Experience with IT industry legal issues is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with client interactions and legal practices in U.S. and Canada is preferred.
