Role Summary
The expanding legal team at Flow seeks a pragmatic and commercially-minded Legal Counsel to provide vital legal support for corporate matters, commercial contracts, and real estate transactions. This full-time, onsite position based in Bay Harbor Islands, FL, may also involve assisting with operational legal issues within Flow’s communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, analyze, and interpret a broad spectrum of commercial agreements, including vendor and property management contracts.
- Collaborate closely with business units to align legal strategies with business goals.
- Maintain the company’s complex corporate entities across Florida, Delaware, and international subsidiaries by preparing consents, officer certificates, board resolutions, and managing organizational charts.
- Liaise with external counsel on litigation, real estate closings, regulatory compliance, and permitting.
- Provide legal support for landlord-tenant operations, including lease compliance, adverse action notices, and resolving resident disputes at property locations.
- Identify complex and emerging legal challenges proactively and advise accordingly.
- Manage strategic relationships with partners, counterparties, and customers.
- Respond to diverse ad hoc legal requests from stakeholders.
- Offer legal assistance on employment, privacy, licensing, and construction issues as necessary.
Preferred Background and Skills
- Between 2 to 5 years of experience in corporate transactional and commercial law, either at a top law firm or in-house within real estate companies, PropTech startups, or similarly fast-growing organizations.
- Meticulous and highly organized approach to legal work.
- Experience with commercial real estate law, landlord-tenant matters, or residential property operations preferred.
- Familiarity with multi-entity corporate structures and subsidiary governance is an advantage.
- Self-driven individual capable of managing agreements throughout their lifecycle.
- Adaptable to shifting workload priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong ethical standards with willingness to question and defend positions openly.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers an annual salary between $170,000 and $190,000, supplemented by comprehensive benefits:
- Health and Wellness: Inclusive medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and parental leave. Additional wellness programs include access to an on-staff doctor, free therapy sessions via SpringHealth, acupuncture, and an Employee Assistance Program.
