Role Overview

We are seeking a versatile Legal Counsel based in Berlin to join our legal team, specializing in commercial law, regulatory matters, and industry-specific legal issues. This position supports operations primarily in Germany and other European markets, providing legal guidance that aligns with business goals and ensures compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Director Legal Germany in identifying and managing legal risks throughout the company.
• Serve as a trusted legal advisor delivering pragmatic solutions across commercial and operational concerns.
• Act as a liaison for legal inquiries, supporting multiple departments with prompt and effective legal advice.
• Prepare, examine, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts balancing risk management with business objectives.
• Collaborate with teams in Marketing, Retail, Sales, and others to address their legal needs and facilitate business expansion.
• Work with legal peers at DoorDash and Deliveroo to synchronize efforts and maintain uniformity across jurisdictions.
• Enhance legal policies, templates, and procedures to boost operational efficiency and scalability.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives including compliance efforts to enable rapid and legally sound business operations.

Qualification and Skills

• Qualified German lawyer (First and Second State Exam) with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, ideally including in-house legal roles.
• Depth of knowledge in commercial law with capability to independently manage critical business legal issues.
• Proficiency in artificial intelligence applications relevant to legal processes, demonstrating responsible and innovative use of AI tools.
• Strong collaboration aptitude working across functional teams such as Marketing and Retail to develop practical and business-aligned legal solutions.
• Fluency in German and English, both speaking and writing; Polish language skills are advantageous.
• Well-organized, pragmatic approach with an ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt quickly to evolving challenges.
• Effective stakeholder management skills combined with a cooperative attitude and readiness to assume responsibility and grow professionally.
