Job description
Overview
This role supports the development, execution, and upkeep of a comprehensive Legal and Regulatory Compliance Program aligning with global best practices and applicable laws to the Group. The position involves identifying compliance risks and formulating mitigation strategies alongside drafting and implementing company policies and procedures. Positioned within the Group Legal Department, the role focuses on company legal matters with an emphasis on Ethics & Compliance, reporting functionally to the Head of Legal & Regulatory Compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform legal research and track changes in compliance laws, regulations, and industry standards to provide strategic, current, and commercially viable legal guidance to business units and corporate departments.
- Conduct compliance due diligence for third parties to uncover risks and assist in developing and applying risk mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to the development, review, and updating of compliance policies, procedures, and training materials tailored to jurisdiction-specific and business activity requirements.
- Draft and review legal documents, including contractual clauses related to compliance.
- Support cross-functional teams in compliance activities and investigations when necessary.
- Carry out preliminary assessments to identify organizational compliance risks and take appropriate mitigation actions.
- Promote a culture of compliance by fostering ethical behavior and integrity throughout the company.
- Provide assistance with KYC and due diligence questionnaires for business units, subsidiaries, and joint ventures.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Law or Business Administration.
- A minimum of five years post-qualified experience, including at least two years in legal and regulatory compliance, with essential knowledge of anti-bribery laws and international sanctions.
- Strong skills in legal research and drafting with proficiency in computer use.
- Capability to manage multiple complex tasks effectively, with a compliance and business-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- Detail-focused and analytical with robust problem-solving skills.
- Able to operate efficiently within a diverse business setting involving multiple internal and external stakeholders under time constraints.
