Job description
Role overview
TRN Law Associates is hiring a fully remote Legal Assistant to work alongside attorneys and the Senior Paralegal in a sophisticated, expanding litigation practice. This position offers direct involvement in live matters, meaningful responsibility from the outset, and the chance to grow within a litigation-focused team.
The role is well suited to someone preparing for law school or aiming to build a long-term career in litigation support. You will assist with real estate and civil litigation matters across California and gain practical exposure that can strengthen your legal career.
Candidates who are based in, or can reliably work remotely during, Pacific Time business hours are strongly preferred regardless of location.

What you will handle
The role centers on litigation support, legal administration, and client coordination. You will help attorneys manage deadlines, prepare court documents, maintain case records, and keep matters moving efficiently.
Additional information
The firm combines the structure and complexity of an established litigation practice with the accessibility and teamwork commonly associated with a smaller office. The opportunity includes exposure to complex civil litigation, especially real estate disputes, and regular collaboration with experienced attorneys and litigation professionals.

- File documents in state and federal courts and keep case records and docket information accurate and current.
- Coordinate client communication, scheduling, depositions, and attorney calendars.
- Maintain case files, support document management and billing tasks, and handle day-to-day litigation administration.
Requirements
- An associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent mix of education and work experience is required.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting litigation work in a law firm setting is needed.
- Practical experience with court calendaring and preparing legal documents is expected.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using cloud-based document and calendar systems are necessary.
- Excellent organization, the ability to juggle overlapping deadlines, and strong attention to detail are important.
- Solid proofreading and written communication skills are required.
- The candidate must be able to work independently while still communicating effectively with the team.
- Experience supporting attorneys in a billable litigation environment is preferred.
