Overview

Success Global invites applications for the position of Legal Assistant at their Wellington practice. As a boutique firm specializing in immigration and advisory services, we assist individuals, families, and employers with immigration issues relating to New Zealand and Australia, as well as corporate immigration and employment advocacy.

Key Duties

  • Manage electronic client files by opening, maintaining, and organizing them effectively.
  • Prepare essential engagement documents, client authorities, checklists, and routine correspondence.
  • Contribute to drafting letters, applications, submissions, and related documentation.
  • Conduct research on legal, immigration policies, and factual matters.
  • Review documents meticulously for completion, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Interact professionally with clients to gather required information and outstanding documents.
  • Assist with preparing and lodging immigration applications.
  • Track deadlines, monitor application status, and ensure timely follow-up with clients.
  • Maintain precise records using the firm's practice management tools.
  • Arrange appointments and support daily administrative tasks.
  • Provide general support to legal and client-care teams as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a law degree, legal studies qualification, or is keen on building a career in legal services.
  • Exhibits excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Has strong attention to detail and excels at managing documents.
  • Is capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Is comfortable using Microsoft Office and cloud-based applications.
  • Approaches work professionally with respect and client focus.
  • Holds permanent working rights in New Zealand.

Prior experience within law firms, immigration practices, or professional service firms is beneficial but not mandatory. Comprehensive training will be provided. Fluency in an additional language is an advantage because of the international clientele.
