Role Overview
As the Legal Administrative Assistant reporting to Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide essential legal and administrative support to the Legal team at Bennington Financial Corp. Your work will involve assisting with various administrative responsibilities, supporting litigation processes, and managing legal correspondence and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle general administrative duties within the Legal department as required.
- Draft and prepare correspondence directed to various stakeholders.
- Support the litigation process by assisting with related procedural tasks.
- Manage incoming legal mail and oversee the Legal ticketing system.
- Conduct requested searches and information gathering.
- Perform clerical functions such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining local photocopier supplies.
- Undertake additional related tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor or General Counsel.
- Gain experience to eventually manage your own legal files independently with training and guidance from seasoned staff.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong organization skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Preferably holds a college diploma or certificate in Legal Administration or Law Clerk studies; equivalent work experience also considered.
- Willingness to learn legal concepts through reading and webinars.
- Knowledge of the leasing or finance industry is advantageous.
- Bilingual capability in English and French is a plus.
