Role overview

The University is hiring for an academic appointment spanning Lecturer to Associate Professor level in the areas of AI within and across organisations, and digital entrepreneurship and platform strategy. The role suits an ambitious, collegial, research-active academic with interdisciplinary interests in how AI is adopted, managed, and affects organisations, people, teams, and ecosystems.

The position also welcomes scholars focused on technology ventures, digital platforms, ecosystem governance, data-driven value creation, scaling, internationalisation, and alliance-based growth. A strong emphasis is placed on responsible and inclusive transformation, including how governance, organisational design, learning, trust, error recovery, and the distribution of benefits and risks shape outcomes.

Successful candidates may collaborate with the Centre of Digital Enterprise (CODE).

Teaching and academic contribution

The appointee will contribute to an engaging student experience and help deliver innovative teaching across related subjects. Teaching may be assigned across the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) and/or Management and International Business (MIB).

The role also includes active participation in service, citizenship, and committee work across the department, faculty, and university.

Employment details

This is a permanent, full-time academic role based on a 40-hour work week, subject to continuation.

Salary is performance- and experience-based, aligned with Academic Standards policy, and falls within these ranges: Lecturer NZ$99,788 to NZ$119,204; Senior Lecturer NZ$126,863 to NZ$158,904; Associate Professor from NZ$165,808.

Candidate profile

The University is seeking someone collaborative, comfortable working across disciplines, and able to communicate ideas and future plans clearly.

A PhD in a relevant field is required; candidates applying at Lecturer level may be near completion. Applicants should demonstrate potential at Lecturer level or a proven record at Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor level in teaching, research, supervision, funding, and curriculum development.

Selection criteria

• Evidence of delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching successfully.
• Publications in highly ranked journals in relevant disciplines.
• Success in securing internal or external research funding.
• Ability to design part or all of a course or programme curriculum.
• Track record of supervising PhD and Master’s students through to completion.
