About the Role
This is a fixed-term 2-year contract position as a Lecturer specializing in Digital Skills within the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary Studies. The role involves preparing students and adult learners with essential digital competencies vital for success in the modern era. Additionally, the lecturer will participate in process automation and digital transformation projects, crafting and implementing secure, user-friendly digital solutions to optimize academic workflows and enhance operational transparency and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and teach Digital Skills courses in both in-person and online formats, including facilitating evening, weekend, and overseas student sessions.
- Mentor and supervise student projects that emphasize digitalization and automation, ensuring alignment between theoretical knowledge and practical applications.
- Develop curriculum content and drive project initiatives targeting youth and adult learners.
- Build and maintain collaborations with industry bodies, government entities, social enterprises, community groups, and other academic institutions.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to analyze workflows and design end-to-end digital automation solutions such as portals, dashboards, and tracking systems.
- Oversee testing, documentation, training sessions, and transition activities to guarantee solution sustainability.
- Create clear, accessible documentation and training materials; provide onboarding and ongoing support to non-technical users for smooth adoption of digital tools.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to implement technology-driven and multidisciplinary teaching methods to improve learning outcomes.
- Practical experience developing digital solutions within the Microsoft 365 suite, notably Power Platform and SharePoint Online.
- Competence in collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to analyze and optimize processes and convert requirements into secure, scalable digital solutions.
- Strong project management and communication abilities with experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
