Job description

Role Overview

Avantor is hiring a Leave and Benefits Analyst to join its HR Shared Services team in Coimbatore. In this position, you will manage employee benefits and leave-of-absence processes through the HR Shared Services Center, making sure operations follow company policy and legal requirements while delivering dependable employee support. The role uses ServiceNow for case handling and Workday for benefits and leave administration, with additional coordination with local vendors in regions that run on local systems. You will also serve as a Tier 2 contact for employees who need help with more complex benefits and leave questions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefit programs such as health coverage, retirement plans, and wellness offerings.
  • Handle benefit-related enrollments, updates, and employee exits.
  • Act as the main contact for benefits questions and work toward prompt resolution.
  • Liaise with benefits vendors and internal teams to keep processes running smoothly.
  • Support open enrollment activities, including system changes, employee communication, and user assistance.
  • Manage leave requests including FMLA, maternity, disability, personal leave, and similar categories.
  • Ensure leave processing aligns with company rules, labor laws, and country-specific regulations.
  • Guide employees and managers on leave eligibility, entitlements, and return-to-work steps.
  • Partner with payroll and HR teams to maintain correct pay treatment for leave periods.
  • Keep accurate documentation and case records.
  • Use Workday to run benefits and leave workflows with accurate data and compliance controls.
  • Use ServiceNow to log, monitor, and close employee cases efficiently.
  • Create reports covering benefits participation, leave patterns, and compliance indicators.
  • Spot process improvement opportunities and support enhancements in Workday and ServiceNow.
  • Coordinate directly with local vendors in regions that use local systems.
  • Handle complex employee queries as a Tier 2 support contact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in HR shared services, benefits administration, and leave administration.
  • Prior exposure to Workday Benefits and Leave modules is preferred.
  • Experience with ServiceNow in an HR case management setting is preferred.
  • Good understanding of employment laws and compliance obligations connected to benefits and leaves.
  • Strong communication skills with a service-oriented approach.
  • High accuracy and the ability to handle several priorities at once.
  • Analytical ability with experience in reporting and process improvement.
  • Ability to translate complex information for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in a multinational shared services environment.
  • Knowledge of global benefits and leave policies across EU, APAC, and Americas regions.
  • HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP is an added advantage.
