Job description

About the company

Algonautin is an impact-focused startup building digital learning environments that aim to make computer science and media literacy engaging, not just instructional. Through products such as algo.bwinf, the company works toward broader educational fairness and already supports tens of thousands of students in Germany and the US. The team is still growing and is focused on reshaping how classroom learning feels.

Role overview

As a Learning Experience Designer, you will connect educational content with the needs of a diverse student audience. Working alongside experienced teachers and the wider team, you will create interactive exercises that feel more like well-designed mini-games than traditional tasks. Your work will translate knowledge into interaction, build coherent learning concepts that evolve with learners, and help make difficult topics easier to grasp while keeping motivation high from the first lesson onward.

What you will do

You will contribute to the design and development of interactive learning experiences that are engaging, consistent, and learner-centered. The role involves shaping how educational material is presented, ensuring that the learning journey is intuitive, and helping students build confidence as they progress.

Requirements

The company is looking for someone with a background in, or current studies related to, human-computer interaction, interface design, visual design, learning experience design, game design, pedagogy, or a similar discipline. You should have a strong sense of visual and interaction design, be able to think from the learner’s point of view, and enjoy turning abstract content into memorable, motivating experiences. The position also calls for independent, dependable, and well-structured work habits, plus openness to feedback and a team-first mindset. Strong English skills are important because the team works internationally across Germany and the US. Experience with computer science or teaching computer science is an added advantage.

Working conditions

This position is available as a full-time or part-time role, and applicants may also join as working students. The job is permanent, starts immediately, and offers 12 to 40 hours per week. Work is fully remote, and working hours can be arranged flexibly.

What to expect

You can expect substantial creative ownership, the chance to influence how students learn computer science and other subjects, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful long-term improvement in schooling. The team is highly qualified, international, and supportive, and the company also provides its own tools, allowing room for flexible and creative work.

Additional information

The company describes itself as warm, collaborative, and pleasant to work with on a daily basis. It also shares that its team includes people with strong academic and competition credentials. A demo and more information are available on the company’s website.

Compensation

The pay is listed at €15 to €25 per hour.
