About the Role
Join Downer, a premier provider of integrated services in Australia and New Zealand, as a Site Traffic Management Supervisor based in Whanganui. This role involves leading traffic management operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant traffic solutions across maintenance and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of temporary traffic management activities on site.
- Validate traffic management plans and maintain continual compliance of worksites.
- Perform site inductions, conduct toolbox meetings, and deliver crew briefings.
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and document required reports.
- Manage checks of vehicles, plant, and equipment used on site.
- Coach and develop both Traffic Controllers and STMS trainees, fostering skill growth.
- Engage positively with clients, stakeholders, and the public to build strong relationships.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Current STMS Qualification (Category A/B or Level 1/2).
- Holder of a full Class 2 driving licence.
- Proven track record in implementing temporary traffic management in active road corridors.
- Strong understanding of temporary traffic management standards and best practices.
- Experience in leading teams and independently managing worksite activities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Dedicated to Zero Harm and safe work practices.
- Willingness to work shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Completion of TTM Unit Standards 31958-31963.
- Experience handling unattended sites and complex traffic management setups.
