Role overview
Jacobs is seeking a Lead Transport Planner with strong expertise in transport modelling and planning to support major infrastructure and highway programmes. This position is based in India and sits within the Highways / Project Management category. The role contributes to work that aims to improve communities, support resilient environments, and deliver practical solutions for cities, transport systems, and other critical infrastructure.
What you will do
- Build and maintain transport models in CUBE across a range of international assignments.
- Use transport data analysis to support planning decisions and project direction.
- Research transport issues, identify opportunities, and help shape transport strategies and policies.
- Assess the likely effect of proposed transport projects and infrastructure changes.
- Contribute to the design of transport infrastructure such as roads, rail networks, and cycle lanes.
- Collaborate with engineers, urban planners, and policy stakeholders to align mobility planning with land-use objectives and sustainable development goals.
- Review, check, and guide the output of junior colleagues to support quality and continuous improvement.
- Apply transport modelling and analysis tools such as EMME, SATURN, VISUM, AIMSUN, LEGION, VISWALK, VISSIM, Junctions9, Sidra, Linsig, Synchro, or SIDRA, where needed.
- Carry out traffic forecasting and analysis using advanced methods to anticipate and manage traffic trends.
- Work with complex datasets to uncover patterns and propose effective responses to transport planning challenges.

Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in transportation engineering, transportation planning, or a closely related discipline.
- Between 9 and 15 years of overall experience.
- At least 6 to 8 years of substantial experience in transport planning, especially on large infrastructure or highway schemes.
- Prior CUBE project experience of at least 6 years, ideally across one or more global delivery portfolios such as the UK, Middle East, ANZ, or the US.
- Professional or chartered accreditation is preferred, though it is not compulsory.
