Lead Commissioning (Safety Systems)

Role Overview

Penspen is seeking an experienced Lead Commissioning professional for an urgent opening on an Offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

What You Will Do

• Plan, coordinate, and drive all pre-commissioning and commissioning work for process and utility systems at the onshore yard or fabrication site before offshore installation.
• Build system-level and subsystem-level commissioning execution plans for process and utility packages.
• Draft commissioning procedures, method statements, and checklists in alignment with project requirements and international codes and standards.
• Examine P&IDs, PFDs, cause-and-effect matrices, control narratives, and vendor documents to clearly define the commissioning scope.
• Direct and oversee pre-commissioning tasks such as flushing, cleaning, leak testing, drying, calibration, functional verification, and loop checks.
• Manage commissioning for process systems including separation, gas treatment, water injection, produced water, flare, and utility systems.
• Serve as the main coordination point between engineering, construction, vendors, and offshore commissioning teams.
• Make sure all activities are carried out in line with project HSE requirements and safe work practices.
• Lead a cross-functional commissioning team covering mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process, and utilities disciplines.

Eligibility and Experience

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

The role calls for 15 to 18+ years of experience in oil and gas commissioning, including at least 5 years in a lead position. Strong familiarity with offshore process and utility systems is essential. Experience with PMC projects is preferred, and prior work on ADNOC projects in a similar role will be an added advantage.

Technical Knowledge

Applicants should be comfortable working with recognized international standards such as API, ASME, IEC, and ISO.
