Role Overview
Penspen is seeking an experienced Lead Commissioning professional for an urgent opening on an Offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
What You Will Do
- Plan, coordinate, and drive all pre-commissioning and commissioning work for process and utility systems at the onshore yard or fabrication site before offshore installation.
- Build system-level and subsystem-level commissioning execution plans for process and utility packages.
- Draft commissioning procedures, method statements, and checklists in alignment with project requirements and international codes and standards.
- Examine P&IDs, PFDs, cause-and-effect matrices, control narratives, and vendor documents to clearly define the commissioning scope.
- Direct and oversee pre-commissioning tasks such as flushing, cleaning, leak testing, drying, calibration, functional verification, and loop checks.
- Manage commissioning for process systems including separation, gas treatment, water injection, produced water, flare, and utility systems.
- Serve as the main coordination point between engineering, construction, vendors, and offshore commissioning teams.
- Make sure all activities are carried out in line with project HSE requirements and safe work practices.
- Lead a cross-functional commissioning team covering mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process, and utilities disciplines.
Eligibility and Experience
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
The role calls for 15 to 18+ years of experience in oil and gas commissioning, including at least 5 years in a lead position. Strong familiarity with offshore process and utility systems is essential. Experience with PMC projects is preferred, and prior work on ADNOC projects in a similar role will be an added advantage.
Technical Knowledge
Applicants should be comfortable working with recognized international standards such as API, ASME, IEC, and ISO.
