Position Overview

We are searching for an exceptional Lead Applied Scientist to join our Abu Dhabi team. This visionary leader will direct advanced AI research and spearhead the creation of innovative deep-learning and generative AI solutions. The role requires extensive technical expertise and a proven track record in advancing research to scalable, high-impact implementations. Responsibilities include designing next-generation AI systems, nurturing a talented team of scientists and engineers, and driving innovation aligned with Inception's strategic mission.

As the UAE’s prominent AI R&D enabler, Inception collaborates closely with Microsoft AI SaaS to provide a domain-focused Agentic AI Orchestrator platform, leveraging reasoning agents to deliver precise, efficient services. Our efforts span AI incubation, intellectual property development, applied research, and AI investment products. By customizing models for specific domains and languages, we optimize accuracy and effectiveness. Partnerships with leading universities and industry leaders bolster our capacity to advance AI technologies regionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation and execution of Inception’s applied AI research roadmap, integrating emerging technologies to sustain organizational AI leadership in the region.
• Architect and supervise the development of cutting-edge generative and deep-learning models that incorporate multi-modal data including vision, language, audio, and sensor inputs.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team to achieve demanding R&D objectives, while fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, engineering, and business units to transform research outputs into deployable enterprise AI solutions.
• Ensure AI models are scalable, reliable, and optimized through thorough experimentation and continuous improvement practices.
• Represent Inception at external academic and industry conferences and foster productive partnerships with research institutions.
• Assess project outcome effectiveness using metrics such as innovation impact, deployment success, IP generation, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related AI fields, specializing in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, or Multimodal AI.
• At least 10 to 12 years of experience in AI research and product development, including a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles managing R&D teams or large AI projects.
• Proven expertise in constructing and deploying large-scale AI infrastructures and systems.
• A strong portfolio of research outcomes, including patents, publications, or innovation initiatives in the AI industry.

Preferred Additional Skills

• In-depth knowledge of avant-garde AI topics such as foundation models, generative architectures, and reasoning mechanisms.
• Excellent strategic acumen, project management, and leadership capabilities.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience commercializing AI technologies from conceptual research through production deployment.
