Overview
Freedom is seeking a skilled Overhead Linesperson (LE2) to join our team in Basingstoke. This permanent full-time position offers a competitive salary along with flexible benefits. The role involves working on diverse overhead line projects including construction, maintenance, and replacement of electrical networks up to 33kV, allowing you to enhance your expertise and progress your career with us.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform construction, maintenance, and replacement tasks on overhead electrical networks up to 33kV.
- Erect poles, replace transformers, and conduct various overhead line operations safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, and all statutory safety requirements while working on site.
- Engage in risk assessments, monitoring work progress to identify and communicate any changes.
- Deliver high-quality work by following method statements, safety instructions, and maintaining site safety.
- Report any safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) issues promptly.
- Provide mentorship and support to colleagues on site.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in optimal working order.
- Engage professionally and courteously with the public and stakeholders when required.
Candidate Requirements
Essential qualifications and skills:
- Experience as an Overhead Linesperson.
- Familiarity with working on dead networks and live low voltage (LV) systems.
- NRSWA Operative accreditation.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong safety awareness and understanding of Health & Safety protocols.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with the public.
Desirable qualifications:
- IPAF accreditation (training available).
- Driving license with C1+E entitlement.
- City & Guilds 2339 (previously 2322).
- NPTC Chainsaw certification.
