About the Role
The Law Office of Patricia Brown, based in Windsor, Ontario and serving clients across Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton, and throughout Ontario, is seeking a full-time Law Clerk for our Windsor location. This position involves a range of clerical, administrative, and legal duties integral to our busy law practice.
Main Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality customer service to clients and visitors.
- Performing in-depth legal research and drafting memoranda as well as reports for clients and firm use.
- Attending and organizing office meetings, including managing client intake discussions.
- Maintaining accurate billing records and tracking client files through proper docketing.
- Providing office management support, including scheduling and coordinating meetings for the legal team.
- Collaborating with accountants and bookkeepers for client matters.
- Advocating for clients as necessary, preparing trial books, and maintaining client file documentation.
Key Qualifications
- Superior verbal and written communication abilities.
- Hands-on experience with preparing legal documents.
- Strong skills in legal research and analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills and proficiency under pressure.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive material confidentially.
- Familiarity with legal research tools or software preferred.
- Completion of a paralegal certification or diploma is considered an asset.
