Key duties

• Run and supervise washing, drying, and dry-cleaning equipment, including adding the necessary chemicals and clearing lint traps.
• Check garments and linens for stains or damage and decide whether they need repair, spot treatment, another wash cycle, or removal from circulation.
• Review items after cleaning to confirm they meet standards, then sort them into clean linen carts.
• Set dryer cycles according to fabric type, including the correct duration and temperature.
• Clean lint, residue, filters, and drain traps after every load.
• Neatly fold cleaned articles by hand or with a folding machine into the required sizes.
• Keep accurate logs and records of all items processed through laundry operations.
• Follow all safety, security, and company procedures, and report injuries, accidents, or unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and keep personal uniform standards in order.
• Protect confidential company information and company property.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues, support team goals, and respond professionally to concerns from others.
• Meet quality standards while looking for practical ways to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost control.
• Inspect equipment and tools visually for defects or issues.
• Carry out additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Work conditions

The role requires long periods of standing, sitting, or walking during the shift. It also involves moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items up to 25 pounds without assistance. Work may require moving through narrow, confined, or elevated areas, as well as across sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces and up and down stairs or service ramps. The job also includes reaching above shoulder level and below the knees, along with bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
