Laundry Aide

Role overview

As a Laundry Aide, you will support the cleaning and handling of resident clothing and the facility’s linen supplies.

Key duties

• Fold freshly cleaned linens and make sure they are distributed where needed.
• Remove lint from dryer screens to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• Check mechanical lift slings and sling straps for signs of wear, tearing, or fraying.
• Keep residents’ closets and drawers neat and organized.
• Help reduce infection risks by using aseptic practices, including precautions related to blood-borne pathogens.
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, family members, community guests, volunteers, and coworkers.
• Promote resident dignity, privacy, independence, personal choice, individuality, and a comfortable home-like atmosphere.

What you should already have

• Strong customer service abilities.
• The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Compassion and genuine interest in supporting older adults.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
