Role Overview
Jaybird Senior Living is looking for a Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment for residents, visitors, and fellow team members. This role is centered on delivering a high standard of hospitality and comfort while supporting the overall appearance and safety of the community.
The position includes cleaning apartments, handling laundry, and caring for shared spaces throughout the community. The right candidate will contribute to a warm atmosphere where residents feel respected, supported, and well cared for each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide weekly housekeeping support, along with any extra services specified in each resident’s Individualized Service Plan.
- Track, request, and store cleaning and laundry supplies in an organized and responsible way.
- Handle cleaning products and personal protective equipment carefully and according to safety standards.
- Keep apartments, dining areas, shared spaces, and other community areas clean and orderly.
- Spot unsafe conditions or hazards and report them to management without delay.
- Note maintenance concerns and submit work orders when needed.
- Respond properly if smoke or fire alarms sound.
- Answer incoming calls politely and offer assistance to residents, visitors, and staff as needed.
- Take part in safety committees, team meetings, and bi-weekly training sessions.
- Protect resident and company confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements at all times.
- Follow OSHA safety practices and all state rules that apply to Assisted Living operations.
- Prepare incident reports for residents, yourself, or coworkers when required.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should bring a strong service mindset, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A calm, approachable attitude, patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in improving residents’ daily lives are important for success in this role.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED is required. Prior experience working with older adults is preferred.
