About the Role

This position sits within LinkedIn Sales Solutions and is focused on helping large enterprise customers get more value from Talent and Learning offerings. The role is based in Chicago or New York City and follows a hybrid working model, with time split between home and a LinkedIn office depending on business needs.

What You Will Do

  • Arrive at customer meetings well prepared by researching the client’s business and bringing relevant questions and insights.
  • Use open, layered questioning to uncover the customer’s real goals and challenges in depth.
  • Build strong relationships across both vertical and horizontal levels within client organizations.
  • Adapt messaging and communication style for different audiences and stakeholder groups.
  • Recommend solutions based on customer outcomes rather than promoting products alone.
  • Sell in a principled way and keep customer trust at the center of the process.
  • Guide buying decisions by aligning stakeholders around a shared vision and clear business value.
  • Use commercial judgment to create and negotiate agreements.
  • Support proposals and handle objections with data and actionable insights.
  • Reduce churn risk through a proactive, customer-first approach.
  • Check in with customers regularly to validate value delivered and adjust strategy to improve ROI.
  • Identify expansion opportunities that increase customer value and drive growth.
  • Incorporate industry, economic, and company context into account planning.
  • Map key stakeholders and build outreach strategies based on relationship strength.
  • Work jointly with internal partners and cross-functional teams to support customer outcomes.
  • Stay humble, ask for support when needed, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Manage territory planning, forecasting, and quota performance with discipline.
  • Use CRM systems and sales tools properly to manage buyer and sales cycles.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant sales experience.
  • Experience in HR software is preferred.
  • A BA/BS degree or an equivalent qualification in a related discipline is preferred.
  • Background in SaaS sales and the Salesforce.com platform is preferred.
  • Experience selling IT solutions is preferred.
  • Understanding of software contract terms and conditions, with the ability to structure fair deals.
  • Strong negotiation skills and accurate forecasting ability.
  • Experience managing a revenue target and building strategies that produce results.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and forecasting capabilities.
  • Proven success handling high-level business in a consultative or evangelistic sales environment.
  • Ability to use data for decision-making and to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to evaluate business opportunities and read prospective buyers.
  • Skill in closing deals with a clear understanding of customer needs.
  • Comfort working with multiple partners and leadership teams in a competitive selling context.

Compensation

The target total earnings for this role are $230,000 to $350,000 OTE. Final pay depends on factors such as skills, experience depth, certifications, and work location. The package may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and/or other incentive compensation.
