Laravel / PHP Developer

About the Role

This contract position calls for an adept Laravel / PHP developer to join the technology team for a year-long engagement. The developer will work on a diverse range of client projects and internal initiatives involving modern PHP frameworks like Laravel and the Laravel Filament admin interface. This role offers hands-on coding, mentorship opportunities, and influence over architectural and technical strategies while tackling varied and evolving software challenges.

Responsibilities

• Create, enhance, and maintain Laravel applications deployed in multiple customer settings and internal platforms.
• Develop scalable ERP and CRM systems tailored to business needs.
• Design RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.
• Build user-friendly administration panels using Laravel Filament.
• Optimize databases on MySQL and PostgreSQL for improved performance and scalability.
• Participate in architectural planning, design decisions, and establish engineering best practices.
• Implement and refine continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Work with container technologies such as Docker and cloud infrastructure platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Explore and apply AI-assisted development techniques that add genuine value to client projects.
• Conduct code reviews and foster team knowledge sharing.
• Mentor junior developers and promote a collaborative engineering culture.

Candidate Profile

• Significant commercial experience with PHP and Laravel framework.
• Strong proficiency with Laravel Filament for admin interfaces.
• Expertise in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, particularly with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD workflows, and modern development processes.
• Experience working with Docker and containerized environments.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Front-end skills in Vue.js or React is desirable.
• Comfortable working within Agile team frameworks.
• Effective communicator with ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A genuine enthusiasm for problem-solving and curiosity about business challenges.

Experience with ERP, CRM, or financial systems is considered a strong asset.
