Job description

Company Overview

Tantek 4D is an expanding digital engineering firm working across Ireland, the UK, and wider Europe. Its projects span the data centre, life sciences, technology, and construction industries. The business is known for delivering work on schedule, within budget, and with a strong emphasis on safety and sustainability. Its culture is built around health and safety, quality, professionalism, and performance. The company offers an integrated digital service powered by advanced technology, giving clients support from early design concept through to final project delivery. Its main capabilities include BIM consultancy, digital twins, geospatial surveying, and monitoring.

Role Summary

This on-site, full-time position in Sligo is suited to a survey professional who can handle fieldwork, data capture, and survey documentation with accuracy. You will work with GPS, total stations, and 3D laser scanners to gather precise geospatial information, then convert that data into drawings, models, and reports that help guide project execution.

What You’ll Do

You will carry out topographic and building surveys, establish and verify site levels, and record measurements carefully to ensure complete and reliable survey data. The role also includes processing survey outputs, preparing clear technical deliverables, and working closely with project managers, engineers, and digital engineering specialists. In addition, you will support safe working practices, look after equipment, and help improve survey methods and internal workflows over time.

Requirements

Applicants should bring a solid background in land surveying and experience on construction or infrastructure projects. Practical knowledge of topographic survey work is important, including site measurements, level runs, and mapping existing site conditions. You should also be comfortable using total stations, GPS devices, and 3D laser scanning tools, with the ability to calibrate equipment and resolve basic issues when needed. Familiarity with building surveys, such as as-built checks and internal/external measurements, is also expected.

A relevant qualification in geomatics, surveying, civil engineering, or a similar field is preferred, although equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered. The role requires the ability to work with survey and CAD/BIM software, strong numerical accuracy, and close attention to detail. Good communication, teamwork, a commitment to health and safety, willingness to travel to sites, a full driving licence, and permission to work in Ireland are all required.
