Job description

About the Role

Amrize invites motivated Labourers to join their team in Calgary, Alberta. This position involves supporting various tasks across the plant including material collection, strand pulling, form setting under guidance, and basic concrete placement. Adhering to strict safety standards is essential throughout all processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and follow oral work instructions to carry out assigned duties.
  • Set up or dismantle concrete forms appropriately.
  • Manually or with powered equipment transport raw materials, finished items, and tools across the facility.
  • Support machine operators, assemblers, and other plant workers.
  • Assist with minor plant repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Remove debris and rubble to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Clean molds and equipment to prevent accumulation of residual materials.
  • Participate actively in daily Pre-Production Meetings.
  • Conduct Field Level Risk Assessments before starting tasks.
  • Commit to ongoing communication and adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a strong safety culture.

Candidate Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred 1 to 2 years of experience, particularly in a precast concrete factory.
  • Willingness to work overtime, shift rotations, including Saturdays.
  • Experience in a production line environment.
  • Physically capable of tasks involving climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, balancing, stooping, and sustained activity.
  • Highly safety-conscious with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Compliance with all safety protocols and use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like respirators; adheres to grooming standards necessary for equipment fit tests.
