Role Overview

The Labourer will assist the Construction Team by supporting the building of homes from excavation through to final completion. The role requires dedication to maintaining schedules and delivering excellent customer experience while embodying Minto’s core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning all areas in homes, including floors, stairwells, walls, mirrors, cabinets, baseboards, window frames, doors, door trims, counters, bathroom fixtures, and appliances
• Removing leftover debris, wood scraps, paint, stains, drywall residue, and caulking from trade activities
• Maintaining cleaning supplies and tools at the site office
• Clearing trash and litter from the construction site grounds
• Operating propane heaters to warm homes for drywall curing before the heating system is active
• Applying and removing protective cardboard coverings on new flooring such as hardwood
• Cleaning fireplace grills and model homes, including bulb replacements
• Locking homes after cleaning or when required
• Ensuring compliance with Ministry of Ontario Labour regulations and company Health & Safety Policies by all staff and trade partners
• Other duties consistent with the job scope as directed by management

Preferred Qualifications and Attributes

• High school completion is preferred
• Experience in carpentry and framing is advantageous
• Ability to read and comprehend cleaning product labels and procedures
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Dependability and reliability in work attendance and performance
• Adaptability and flexibility to changing tasks and environments
• Effective time management and organizational capabilities
• Bilingualism considered an asset
• Keen attention to detail in carrying out responsibilities

Compensation Details

The starting hourly wage ranges between $23 and $25 CAD, with pay varying according to individual skills, experience, location, and market factors.
