Role overview
The Label Specialist is responsible for applying quality policies, procedures, projects, and systems to develop Abbott Nutrition product labels. This role partners with multiple teams to ensure that labels for new products and label updates remain compliant for products made at Abbott-owned and contracted facilities across the Asia Commercial Region.
What you will do
- Coordinate labeling activities with the Project Management team and align label work with expected timelines and product launch plans.
- Act as the main point of contact for the wider labeling group, including Global Labeling Operations, Desktop Publishers, Affiliates, Regulatory teams, Marketing, Nutrition Science, Medical Affairs, Plant teams, and Project Management, from planning through execution in the label review workflow.
- Create and manage projects in the label review system, move label work from review to approval, and ensure accuracy, compliance with current procedures, and on-time completion.
- Assess proposed label changes, implement approved updates, review documentation practices, and develop product labels according to priorities set by the steering committee or project management.
- Serve as the primary liaison for outside partners such as translation agencies and print suppliers.
- Support collaboration with stakeholders across Area and country Affiliate teams to keep label deliverables on schedule.
- Provide subject-matter guidance on product labeling and deliver training when needed on the label review system.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and standardization.
- Confirm that project scope is well defined and that timelines are realistic for meeting deliverables.
- Work independently with little supervision while also supporting teammates and contributing to a cooperative, inclusive work culture.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant area such as Food Science, Life Sciences, Nutrition, or a related discipline is preferred; alternatively, a diploma in a similar field with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience is acceptable.
- Background in quality management, regulatory affairs, or a closely related function is preferred.
- Experience handling projects, organizing priorities, managing several initiatives at once, and meeting agreed deadlines is important.
- Exposure to labeling or artwork management processes will be considered an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors is required.
- Comfort adapting to changing priorities and shifting business needs is necessary.
- Self-driven team player with initiative, energy, and a practical problem-solving mindset.
- Experience using Excel VBA, Power BI, or similar analytics tools to generate insights and support process improvements is a plus.
- This position will operate within a Quality System environment.
