Job description
Role summary
This position is for a graduate trainee level associate scientist within analytical research. The role focuses on sample analysis, laboratory-based research support, method development assistance, instrument validation, and routine lab operations in a scientific R&D setting.
What you will do
- Test new ingredients, prototypes, replicate samples, and finished goods using analytical methods.
- Support scientists during experiment work for method development, process development, and validation studies.
- Help coordinate and carry out instrument validation activities.
- Organize day-to-day work so testing turnaround targets are met.
- Record experimental work, outcomes, and observations promptly and with accuracy.
- Work with other teams, exchange information, and take part in group activities.
- Handle lab purchasing, stock control, equipment calibration, and general housekeeping as directed by the lab manager or senior scientist to keep the laboratory operating safely and efficiently.
- Maintain assigned laboratory procedures and processes where required.
- Follow all relevant safety, quality, and company policies and procedures, including participation in CAPA and LI-related activities.
- Help set procedures, rules, and guidelines for the section under the guidance of the lab manager.
- Assist with training activities within the section.
- Carry out TPL operational management tasks under the supervision of the lab manager or senior scientist to support service quality.
- Perform analytical research, sample testing, lab maintenance, technical support, and liaison work with the external scientific community.
- Plan daily work and complete assigned activities under supervision as an entry-level team member.
- Provide training support, including method training and method transfer, internally and externally when needed.
- Implement and follow quality, EHS, and company requirements.
- Offer physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and food chemistry support to product R&D, supply chain, medical safety, clinical research, nutrition science, regulatory teams, and related functions.
- Support the development of R&D network capability.
- Maintain frequent contact with external scientific stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a closely related field.
- 0 to 2 years of work experience or internship experience in chemistry, food science, food chemistry, food microbiology, or a related area.
- Foundational understanding of analytical chemistry, food science, and nutrition-related applications.
- Practical exposure to analytical instruments.
- Experience in an R&D environment.
- Comfortable using Windows and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to investigate issues and suggest solutions or recommendations.
- Capable of reviewing and organizing scientific data.
- Strong attention to detail, writing ability, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on your own while also collaborating across functions.
- Strong presentation and communication skills for audiences ranging from teams to senior management.
- Able to manage several tasks at once and prioritize work effectively.
- Some travel may be required.
- Good relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.

Education
