Purpose of the position
The main objective of this role is to support a wide range of laboratory activities and help maintain quality, safety, and compliance standards across product testing and lab operations. The analyst is expected to carry out precise analysis and contribute to reliable quality control outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, prepare, label, document, and handle samples correctly from different stages of the production process so that sample integrity is maintained for testing.
- Carry out regular tests and experiments using laboratory tools and methods such as chromatography, spectroscopy, titration, and other analytical techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of test outcomes, observations, and experimental data in raw data books, process registers, and individual raw data books.
- Enter analyzed results into LIMS and notify the supervisor for review and validation.
- Identify unusual results, deviations, or exceptions in testing and report them to the relevant person.
- Support the calibration, validation, and upkeep of laboratory instruments and equipment to preserve test accuracy.
- Dispose of leftover samples in a safe manner according to lab procedures.
- Inspect incoming routine samples and route them to the appropriate lab sections based on the required analysis.
- Inform the shift in charge promptly if samples are abnormal or if expected routine samples are not received on schedule.
- Follow laboratory safety rules and compliance requirements at all times to protect people and assets.
- Handle chemicals and hazardous materials with extreme care and ensure disposal follows prescribed guidelines.
- Stay aligned with relevant regulations, standards, and protocols to ensure all lab work remains compliant.
- Perform daily activities in line with policies, processes, SOPs, and instructions so work remains controlled and consistent.
- Keep learning industry best practices and contribute to process improvement through LEAN Six Sigma, DMAIC, 5S, QCC, Kaizen, and related methods.
Quality and success measures
Performance is expected to align with ISO 17025 quality management requirements, strong audit outcomes, zero penalties related to health and safety non-compliance, dependable reporting accuracy, and familiarity with LIMS, SAP-QM, and major standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 18001, ISO 45001, and AS9100D.
Operating network
Internal: Supervisor/Manager, lab colleagues, quality control and quality assurance teams, production teams, research and development teams, and health and safety teams.
External: None.

Education and experience
A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a Master of Science in Chemistry is required, with M.Sc. candidates preferred. The role expects 0 to 2 years of experience in QA/QC work.
