Job description
Role Overview
This role is for an L2 Production/Application Support professional supporting business-critical applications and scheduled batch processes in Singapore. The position focuses on keeping systems available, responding to incidents, and working across application and infrastructure teams to restore service quickly and maintain operational stability.
Key Duties
- Deliver second-line support for production business applications and batch workflows.
- Track application health, investigate failures, and make sure service-level targets are met.
- Handle Java/J2EE applications running in Linux/Unix-based environments.
- Write and maintain Python and shell scripts to automate operational tasks and support day-to-day activities.
- Run SQL statements, inspect logs, and drive issue analysis to closure.
- Assist with application releases, batch/job scheduling, and monitoring of systems.
- Coordinate with development and infrastructure teams to resolve problems efficiently.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in application support.
- Practical experience with Python, shell scripting, SQL, and Linux/Unix.
- Familiarity with web applications, batch processing, JBOSS, and MariaDB.
- Exposure to job scheduling is beneficial; experience with MQ setup and CI/CD setup is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in the banking domain is a plus.
