Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join our team in Karlsruhe, Germany. This role involves developing and operating a robust Kubernetes platform on a bare-metal infrastructure featuring over 85,000 CPU cores. The engineer will focus on automating and enhancing platform, build, and deployment workflows using state-of-the-art CI/CD methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Kubernetes platform on large-scale bare-metal hardware.
- Automate and optimize build, deployment, and platform processes leveraging modern continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Support and improve cloud-native platform services that power more than 500 applications and serve upwards of 42 million users.
- Create Kubernetes Operators and enhance the platform with technologies like service mesh, storage solutions, and GPU integration.
- Collaborate closely with experienced platform and infrastructure engineers and actively contribute to open-source projects.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field and have practical experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or cloud-based environments. While mastery of every technology listed is not mandatory, solid foundational skills, a strong eagerness to learn, and a passion for technology are crucial.
- Experience working with Kubernetes deployments in on-premises settings along with familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Proficient with Linux and comfortable scripting or programming with Bash, Python, and/or Go.
- Familiarity with modern Git workflows.
- Passion for platform engineering focused on automation, observability, testing, and managing scalable distributed systems.
- Fluent communication skills in English, a collaborative team mindset, and commitment to continuous technical growth.
