Role overview
The Key Customer Specialist Oncology will manage Bayer’s relationships with key thought leaders and healthcare professionals across selected key accounts in the private and government sectors. The role is centered on driving account growth, supporting oncology brand strategy, building educational programs, and strengthening Bayer’s position as a preferred partner in the oncology space.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the link between Bayer and key thought leaders/HCPs, while working toward sales goals for assigned accounts.
- Communicate disease and brand messages through a multi-channel approach and help shape speaker-led educational curricula for wider dissemination.
- Work with thought leaders to understand their needs and translate them into meaningful, co-created content using Bayer capabilities.
- Support execution of oncology brand plans for priority accounts to enable profitable and sustainable growth.
- Create long-term key account strategies and stakeholder relationships that support mutual business growth and reinforce Bayer Oncology as a trusted partner.
- Map and prioritize key accounts using the 80/20 approach, including segmentation, targeting, and a prioritization matrix.
- Build and maintain an HCP list for each account and keep scientific interest information current as market conditions change.
- Act as the main, though not exclusive, contact point between stakeholders and Bayer Oncology, while sharing account needs internally and seeking support from cross-functional teams.
- Co-develop value-based solutions with thought leaders and speaker groups that serve both HCP scientific interests and Bayer communication goals.
- Partner with MSLs to secure HCP speakers for planned educational activities across formats such as lectures, peer-to-peer sessions, debates, third-party symposia, and Bayer-led events.
- Coordinate with the virtual events team to use engaging hybrid formats and support virtual meetings, including inviting peers when relevant.
- Log all one-to-one interactions and account plans in Veeva, and capture HCP insights to inform future messaging and content creation.
- Maintain accurate and disciplined records in Veeva, including customer data, activity logs, event reporting, PGMI reporting, channel preferences, insights, adoption ladder information, and samples where required.
- Improve customer experience by using data to monitor, optimize, and adapt activities, content, and channels for stronger impact.
- Work with accounts to collect monthly IMS orders from major hospitals and chains and help support IMS targets.
- Track inventory, usage, stock levels, forecast accuracy, and product movement from central storage to outlet level, while aligning with distributor sales teams on orders, forecasts, campaigns, launches, and demand changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science.
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required; experience with key brands is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical company, with 1 year in oncology preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking, commercial awareness, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work with senior commercial stakeholders in key accounts.
- Proven stakeholder management experience, including collaboration with thought leaders and institutions.
- Solid business understanding, with exposure to commercialization, medical engagement, and customer experience excellence.
- Strong scientific understanding and the ability to interpret scientific data in the assigned therapy area.
- Hands-on experience with digital and virtual tools is essential.
- Ability to use Bayer virtual platforms and digital systems effectively to deliver strong virtual customer experiences and capture HCP-level data.
- Must be a Saudi national citizen, in line with KSA regulatory requirements for this role.
