Role Overview

The Key Account Manager will drive promotion of Sun Pharma’s portfolio, beginning with a monoclonal antibody in oncology. The role focuses on identifying important accounts and building strong partnerships with healthcare professionals in specialist oncology and retail pharmacy settings.

This position is accountable for achieving sales and performance targets across North Rhine-Westphalia and the wider Germany North region, while reporting to the Head of Hospital and Complex Generics. A major part of the role is to develop long-term stakeholder relationships and use customer insights to shape strategies that support access to Sun Pharma’s complex generics and biosimilar portfolio.

Close cooperation with pharmacists and healthcare professionals is essential to support appropriate and ethical prescribing. All activities must be carried out in accordance with pharmaceutical regulations, legal requirements, and company strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet sales effectiveness KPIs and deliver results against the agreed budget.
  • Identify, influence, and manage decision-makers within specialist pharmacies and oncology networks to improve product access.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and brand ambassador for Sun Pharma’s complex generics and biosimilar products.
  • Organize and conduct meetings in specialized pharmacies and oncology disease centers to present Sun Pharma’s portfolio.
  • Represent the company at regional and national congresses.
  • Create key account plans aligned with national and regional goals, including targeting, objectives, and activity planning.
  • Prepare activity reports to track progress and support delivery of the account plans.
  • Keep key account management expenses within the approved budget.
  • Review outcomes and profitability against defined targets and take corrective actions where needed to achieve sales goals.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide regular market feedback to the manager.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with key opinion leaders, prescribers, and hospital stakeholders.
  • Take part in continuing medical education, professional relation activities, national congresses, and postgraduate education events.
  • Follow EU regulations and internal compliance standards at all times.
  • Gather, assess, and pass on requests and information to relevant teams such as Medical, Marketing, and Market Access.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have a Master’s degree or equivalent experience, or be certified as a pharma representative under §75 AMG. Prior exposure to local market access in oncology, retail pharmacy, and other oncology-related stakeholder environments is required.

A minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience is expected, preferably within oncology. The role also requires confidence working in a scientific setting, experience with planning national symposia and congresses, strong MS Office and Windows-based application skills, willingness to travel extensively across the assigned area, occasional travel to Leverkusen headquarters, and a fully valid driving license.

The successful candidate should be fluent in German and have advanced English skills.
