About Ipsen and the Role

Join Ipsen’s commercial team as a Key Account Manager responsible for the Southwest territory in Ireland, focusing on Oncology and Neuroscience. This field-based position supports patient care in prostate cancer, neurology, and rehabilitation medicine. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, decision-makers, and internal partners to enhance access, optimize patient outcomes, and meet territory goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver strong key account and territory plans to maximize sales effectiveness.
  • Utilize Ipsen's key account planning and sales force effectiveness strategies with an omnichannel approach.
  • Coordinate hospital plans aligning with account strategies and relevant decision-making units.
  • Manage territory budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the Irish pharmaceutical sector, including HSE policies and funding routes for specialist medicines.
  • Stay updated on clinical developments in Oncology and Neuroscience and provide ongoing education to physicians and clinical teams.
  • Conduct in-field clinical training where applicable, particularly in Neuroscience.
  • Communicate complex clinical data clearly and effectively.
  • Secure hospital and regional formulary access through proficient selling skills.
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with oncologists, urologists, medical groups, and Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Identify and address drivers and obstacles within key accounts.
  • Collaborate with Medical Science Liaisons, Brand Managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure coordinated strategy execution.
  • Adhere strictly to Ipsen policies, local guidelines, and the IPHA Code of Practice in all activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in business, science, nursing, or a related discipline.
  • Proven success as a key account manager in secondary care or hospital sales environments.
  • Track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets in complex healthcare settings.
  • Strong ability to engage with diverse and complex clinical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in matrixed and cross-functional organizational structures.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Veeva CRM.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to IPHA Code compliance.
  • Familiarity with the Southwest territory is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English.
