Position Overview

This opportunity is for a Key Account Manager focused on broker-managed grocery retail customers within the United States. The role aims to accelerate growth by fostering strong partnerships, managing broker relationships, and driving effective sales strategies to maximize revenue and market presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of sales growth initiatives for assigned retail customers while managing broker partnerships and strategic account execution.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for broker relationships and customer interactions to drive sales, revenue, and market share growth.
  • Forge and strengthen strategic partnerships with retail clients through collaborative business planning and growth initiatives.
  • Develop tailored sales strategies by assessing business needs, market opportunities, and potentials for long-term growth.
  • Lead sales presentations, conduct customer line and business reviews to effectively communicate value propositions and accelerate important initiatives.
  • Utilize syndicated and self-service data sources to analyze trends, obtain insights, and support data-driven sales recommendations.
  • Manage annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets, formulating actionable plans to meet or surpass them.
  • Design and administer trade promotion strategies, oversee budgets, and improve promotional investment efficiency.
  • Handle product forecasting for existing and new products and support overall demand planning processes.
  • Oversee customer expenses, deductions, and trade-related processes ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Collabroate with internal teams across sales strategy, trade, marketing, finance, operations, supply chain, and product departments to enhance customer success.
  • Identify and implement improvements in processes and execution to support sustained business expansion.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), food, grocery retail sales, or commercial roles.
  • Proven track record of managing retail accounts and expanding brands or developing emerging categories.
  • Experienced in managing and collaborating with broker networks to accomplish sales targets.
  • Strong analytical aptitude for interpreting sales data, market research, and sales reporting tools.
  • Skilled in creating sales strategies, preparing presentations, and developing growth plans.
  • Understanding of trade promotion management, budget oversight, and retail sales planning.
  • Preferred experience working with distributors and small to medium-sized retailers.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills, including engagement with category management, marketing, finance, and operations teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, comfortable engaging with both internal and external leadership.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of managing shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to visit customers, attend selling events, conferences, and company meetings.
  • Passion for supporting mission-driven brands and contributing meaningful impact to business growth is a plus.
