Currently, Lumi collaborates with K-12 schools to enhance student engagement and literacy by facilitating the creation of comics and graphic novels in classrooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate top-of-funnel leads by executing targeted outreach, research, and multi-channel campaigns aimed at district leaders, schools, and partners.
  • Screen and prioritize potential clients to secure impactful meetings with superintendents, CFOs, curriculum directors, and principals.
  • Conduct discovery calls to comprehend district objectives and align Lumi's offerings with priorities such as literacy, attendance, equity, and innovation.
  • Perform tailored demonstrations and presentations for various stakeholders including administrators, educators, and board members.
  • Craft and present personalized proposals while managing the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract closure.
  • Build enduring relationships with education leaders and partners, positioning Lumi as a strategic, trusted advisor.
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion including multi-year renewals and district-wide implementations.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Success and Product teams to ensure smooth transitions and foster account growth.
  • Maintain and update pipeline activity meticulously within the CRM system, providing accurate forecasts and insights.
  • Consistently achieve or surpass monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and pipeline objectives.
  • Represent Lumi at conferences, exhibitions, and district events to enhance brand visibility and generate new business prospects.
  • Leverage cutting-edge AI outreach and engagement platforms to maximize efficiency and sales outcomes.
  • Contribute field-based insights to refine go-to-market strategies, sharpen sales messaging, and support the company's growth playbook.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in education sales roles such as SDR, BDR, Account Executive or mixed roles, with proven quota overachievement.
  • Extensive understanding of the K-12 educational system, including procurement, funding processes, and decision-making hierarchies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with senior educational executives including superintendents and CFOs.
  • Strong presentation skills and storytelling capabilities tailored for diverse audiences from boardrooms to classrooms.
  • Successful experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with disciplined CRM usage and precise forecasting abilities.
  • Comfort and adaptability working in a fast-paced startup environment, with a capacity to develop new sales approaches.
  • Proven tenacity in environments with high rejection rates such as direct sales or fundraising.
  • Demonstrated excellence and top-tier performance in competitive professional, academic or athletic contexts.
  • Passion for education, literacy improvement, and empowering school districts to achieve transformational outcomes for students.

Compensation and Location

  • Base salary between $125,000 and $175,000 annually.
  • Equity stake ranging from 0.04% to 0.1%.
  • Remote work based in the United States with periodic in-person meetings.
