Job description

About the Role

This position involves developing and maintaining detection signals, tools, and infrastructure essential for keeping pace with evolving cyber attackers. You will perform and guide security analysis tasks including risk hunting, malware examination, and indicator analysis. Managing malicious activities across corporate networks and evaluating risks within enterprise, production, and cloud environments are key responsibilities. As part of the Core team, you contribute to foundational technical elements that support Google’s flagship products, ensuring safety and innovation across the company’s ecosystem.

Key Tasks

  • Conduct analysis, investigation, and response to security alerts effectively.
  • Innovate and research advanced risk hunting techniques to uncover security vulnerabilities.
  • Design and implement automation solutions to streamline operational processes and minimize repetitive efforts.
  • Maintain adherence to applicable legal requirements as well as internal security and privacy regulations.
  • Lead response initiatives for incidents categorized as low severity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate practical experience is mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years working within security assessment, security design review, or threat modeling fields.
  • Solid understanding of host, network, and cloud security fundamentals, including familiarity with common attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Preferred credentials include Security+ or similar cybersecurity and incident response certifications.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash, or using generative AI for automating operational workflows.
  • Experience applying threat modeling methodologies for risk analysis.
  • Strong independent work ethic with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple investigations concurrently.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, investigative skills, and both verbal and written communication capabilities.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position in Ireland ranges between 68000 and 70000 EUR annually, complemented by a 15% bonus target, equity options, and comprehensive benefits. Individual pay is influenced by skills, experience, and relevant education.
