Job description
Role Overview
This position is for a Junior Research Fellow working on an ANRF-supported project at BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus. The work is centered on developing next-generation indigenous GNSS and PNT technologies for India, with a strong research and PhD-oriented focus. This is intended for candidates who are genuinely committed to advanced research and can handle rigorous technical expectations.
Research Focus
- LEO-based positioning and navigation systems
- CRPA-driven anti-spoofing and interference mitigation
- Advanced processing of GNSS signals
- GNSS simulators and SDR-based receiver development
- Integrated positioning using 5G and GNSS
- Building low-cost, indigenous capability with strategic impact
Project Context
The project is supported by national agencies including ISRO, DRDO, DST/SERB, and others. The broader mission is to strengthen self-reliance in critical PNT technologies for India.
Interview Preparation Expectations
Candidates are expected to arrive well prepared for technical discussion. A strong understanding of signal processing, communication fundamentals, and GNSS concepts is required. Answers should show clear analytical thinking rather than memorized responses. Applicants who have not revised the basics or cannot explain core ideas clearly are unlikely to move forward.
Eligibility and Fit
This opportunity is best suited to serious research candidates, especially those planning to pursue a PhD. Strong interest in deep technical work, willingness to put in the effort to prepare, and the ability to justify knowledge beyond what is written in the CV are essential.
Compensation
The fellowship is in the range of ₹37,000 to ₹42,000 per month. For exceptional candidates, funding availability is not considered a limiting factor.
Application Process
Interested candidates should send their CV along with a short motivation note to the provided campus email address. Early submissions will receive priority, and shortlisting will be strict. The application deadline is 21 July 2026.
Important Note
This position is not meant for casual applicants or for those exploring the field without serious intent. It is a high-impact research role focused on national-level technology development. Applicants are advised to apply only if they are prepared to take the work seriously.
